There’s been a little mix up regarding LA Reid’s tweet about her new album.
Time mag called epic/sony, rep says tweet was taken out of context. Her new album isn’t coming out this month, but definitely within the year (He did mention Fiona specifically, but also mentioned other artists. I’m guessing that’s the mix up).
And so, we hold our breath once more, just like David Blaine.

(At one point, a fan requested new material. “I can’t remember [how to play] any of my new songs because they’ve been done for a fucking year,” Apple replied. “Not her fault!” said Brion.) By the third song, I was actively rooting against the past. This new Fiona Apple was so much better, so much more nuanced and thoughtful. At some point, she sang Cliff Edwards’ “Night Owl” with that massive orange wrap tightly secured around her shoulders. When she got to the chorus, “I’m a night owl,” she widened her eyes and spread out her arms, revealing the sparkly lining underneath, and flapped a few times.

We are going on tour! We haven’t announced a full roster of dates and places yet because we are still working on getting all of the paperwork in order for several schools (huge, huge thanks to Sloan for spearheading this entire effort, and additional huge, huge thanks to Gabi for working her tail off to make it all possible as well!) What we can tell you so far is this: We will be hitting a handful of schools in the New York and New Jersey area from September 19-September 23, and then we will be driving up and down the East coast from October 3 - October 30th, hitting schools such as Bard University in New York (10/3), Kenyon College in Ohio (10/11), Stetson University (10/25) and the University of Virginia (10/27)!Our goal is to not only visit these schools, but to also document our efforts so that we can share them with the larger community, and that is where we need your help. We have crunched some numbers and discovered that if we can raise $6,000 additional dollars, we will have enough money to rent a van and hire a cameraperson to help us with the documentation.
